Winning First Place in the C.O.B. JDEI Case Competition
Year One
During my time at CSU, I have been inspired by talented faculty, a diverse student body, and a forward-thinking curriculum. In my first year in Fort Collins, I joined Hall Council. I was elected Marketing Chair, which allowed me to connect with the residential leadership community and gain some rudimentary marketing experience advertising Hall Council events and programs. I was also a coach in a local community outreach program at CSU called Public Achievement. CSU students led classes in Fort Collins' local high school and helped students develop service-oriented projects to better their communities. This was one of my favorite experiences of my freshman year; I loved connecting with young people about issues within their community that they were passionate about. I also joined several business-oriented clubs. The Women-In-Business Association, the Marketing Association, and the Sales Club. These clubs host speakers, events, and workshops surrounding topics and issues within business and have helped tremendously with my professional development.

Year Two
In my sophomore year at CSU, I served as the Director of Marketing and Promotions for the Residence Hall Association. This job consisted of two parts: being a cabinet member for the Residence Hall Association and being the Director of Marketing and Promotions. As a cabinet member, I voted in our senate space, advised the administration on residential issues, and managed a Hall Council. As the Director of Marketing and Promotions, I developed marketing materials and strategies to promote events and programs, managed and maintained the RHA website and social media, and created the newsletter sent out to all residents. This position was my first real taste of marketing, I gained so many professional skills, and learned what it truly means to be flexible and adaptive as we were programming amid the COVID pandemic. I also got the wonderful experience of working alongside a team of amazing, passionate peers.

Year Three
In my junior year at CSU, I got the opportunity to be a part of some of the most amazing and dynamic teams in my college career thus far. I competed in and won first place in two separate case competitions within the College of Business. In both of these competitions, I was able to work with brilliant teams from different academic backgrounds which helped us to develop cross-functional solutions for our cases. I was a part of two amazing officer teams this year for the Women in Business Association and the Marketing Assocation. Within these teams, I planned workshops, hosted speakers, organized industry meet-ups, and liaised with the College of Business administration. In the spring, I was invited to attend the Sonny Lubick Leadership seminar. This provided me with the opportunity to regularly meet with an ambitious team of business students to discuss leadership; our challenges and victories. Lastly, in October, I started an internship at Old Town Media in Fort Collins. It has been such a wonderful experience to put some of my curriculum into practice. I have learned a lot about how an agency functions, SEO, copywriting, engagement, and so many new tools!

Year Four
In my final year at Colorado State Univeristy, I took some of the most impactful courses of my college career, finished my internship at Old Town Media, and gained a lot of insight while working on a Consulting Externship. I took both my Marketing Capstone and my Business Capstone while mentoring a small group of First-Years through the Women in Business Association. Being reminded of my experience as a first-year business student while working on semester-long projects that required me to utilize the skillset that I have worked hard to develop these four years, was gratifying. Working on these large-scale projects allowed me to hone my leadership, project management, communication, and presentation skills. In December of my senior year, I finished my internship at Old Town Media. This experience has made me fall even more in love with the dynamic and creative world of marketing as well as the fast-paced and fun agency lifestyle. Lastly, I completed a semester-long Consulting Externship with The Boys and Girls Clubs of Larimer County. We were able to work with their team to develop a marketing and outreach strategy for improved relationships with partners and to solve for some recruitment issues. I learned so much about myself and the kind of role I see myself in during this experience. Specifically, I learned that I love relationship-building and that my strengths as a marketer lay in developing processes and strategies.
